A Return to Segregation The Nebraska legislature has passed and the governor has signed a bill that "calls for dividing the Omaha public schools into three racially identifiable districts, one largely black, one white and one mostly Hispanic." In Law to Segregate Omaha Schools Divides Nebraska, the New York Times Sam Dillon tells of the effort to re-segregate Omaha's schools at the urging of a black senator to meet "a desire by blacks to control a school district in which their children are a majority." NEA's "Wake-Up Wal-Mart" Campaign While updating the site's affiliate advertiser listings and doing some private research due to a personal dispute with Wal-Mart, I ran across the NEA Wake-Up Wal-Mart Campaign. The NEA Other Issues page states:
