It Made Me Laugh...Annie Just Hooted

cllick to enlargeAs Annie and I sat at the kitchen table Monday evening, I was sorting the mail of the day. One of the items that came in was an absentee ballot application sent by the Indiana Democratic Committee with a really funny, although all too true, cover. I laughed at it, but Annie totally lost it when she saw it. It features some photos I last saw in Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11.

Color in number 118 on your periodic table. According to Element 118, Heaviest Ever, Reported for 1,000th of a Second, scientists have "created the heaviest element ever." Until replicated the new element will simply be known by its atomic number, 118.

Aurora Forecast

The Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska Fairbanks has updated and improved its Aurora Forecast website. For those living far enough north, the site features 1 hour, daily, weekly, and monthly aurora predictions. The Casper StarTribune carries Mary Pemberton's AP story about the site update (in its entirity...which many sites abbreviate!).
