Several years ago I added this page to the mathdittos2.com site and have been surprised that it has become one of the most visited pages on the site! Maybe that says something about the other content, but it's nice that folks are able to find some use for these photos. All photos on this page are copyrighted, but may be used for desktop photos without pernission or payment. All other use is requires prior consent.

I picked up a flatbed film scanner recently that's capable of scanning in slides and negatives. I'm working in some farm shots, including a few old ones from a small farm I had in 1980-1988 where the originals are still in good enough shape. Even though it's been almost twenty years since we lost the farm, there's still a bit of "farm fever" in my blood, I guess.
Most of the images above were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 4300. A few were taken with my trusty old Canon AE-1 or a Nikon Coolpix P60 I'm now using a Canon Digital Rebel XSi
If you decide on a Canon digital SLR, let me suggest that you forgo the "kit lens" often sold with the camera body and go for a better lens. I found I was much, much happier with the camera once I went to the Canon EF-S 17-85mm Note that the ad links above all go to Amazon.com, a very good place to find a deal on a camera. But also be sure to comparison shop the Buy.com Digital Camera Store
If you're hunting for more astronomy photos, you might check out several of my columns and features:
Most of the photos in the three links above were harvested from a variety of astronomy links sites. I'm always amazed at what is available in this area. I've listed the sources in the left column. On the right are links to some general desktop photo/wallpaper sites.
I'll also add a link here to a page I did as a test for an old application, Out My Window. If you're looking for a new camera, I found both dealcam and DealTime to be good places to start hunting for a quality, low-cost, mail order vendor. And before you buy, do be sure to check the current prices on Amazon FREE ORION CATALOG! Request our colorful award-winning catalog, featuring our high quality products. Send Feedback to Ads
