I added this page to the mathdittos2.com site about ten years ago and have been surprised that it has consistently been one of the most visited pages on the site! Maybe that says something about the other content, but it's nice that folks are able to find some use for these photos. All photos on this page are copyrighted, but may be used for desktop photos without permission or payment. All other use requires prior consent, massive royalty payments, your left pinkie finger... (Actually, I'm a pretty soft touch on non-commercial use of my photos. Just , please.)
To download an image, select the size photo you wish and click on its link. It should load in a new page or tab in your web browser. Then right click and save to where you want it on your hard drive. |

I picked up a flatbed film scanner a few years ago that's capable of scanning in slides and negatives. The piglet and honeybee shots below are scans from a small farm I had in 1980-1988. Even though it's been over twenty years since we lost the farm, there's still a bit of "farm fever" in my blood, I guess.
Many of the images on this page were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 4300. A few were taken with my trusty old Canon AE-1 or a Nikon Coolpix P60
If you decide on a Canon digital SLR, let me suggest that you forgo the "kit lens" often sold with the camera body and go for a better lens. I found I was much, much happier with the camera once I went to a Canon EF-S 15-85mm Zoom Lens While cameras are often cheaper on Amazon, I've found that I consistently get a better deal from Rakuten on lenses. And when shopping, it often pays to shop both.
Appreciate the content on mathdittos2.com?
If you're hunting for more astronomy photos, you might check out several of my columns and features:
Most of the photos in the three links above were harvested from a variety of astronomy links sites. I'm always amazed at what is available in this area. I've listed the sources in the left column. On the right are links to some general desktop photo/wallpaper sites.
I'll also add a link here to a page I did as a test for an old application, Out My Window. And if you're looking for something that was previously posted here but has since disappeared from the page, check out my Cutting Room Floor page of Desktop Photos rejects. Send Feedback to Ads
